Mollie Douthit is an American representational painter. Her small scale oil paintings depict images of food, home, and memory. This work has been exhibited internationally, with recent solo shows at Molesworth Gallery in Dublin; Northwest Arts Center in Minot, ND; North Dakota Museum of Art, and Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin, among others. After showing at Saatchi Gallery in London, Mollie was highlighted through Saatchi Art’s as an artist to watch in their ‘Invest in Art Series.’ Additionally, her work has been featured in Hyperallergic, The Irish Times, Sunday Times Culture, New American Paintings, and Ilikeyourworkpodcast.
Mollie has received numerous awards and grants from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation, the Irish Arts Council, and the North Dakota Council of the Arts. Her work has been supported by residencies at the Jentel Foundation for the Arts, Tyrone Guthrie Center, Ballinglen Arts Foundation, and Vermont Studio Center. Splitting time between Ireland and North Dakota, among other locales, Mollie loves painting in the kitchen and is an avid baker.
