Douthit's work has been published in New American Paintings, The Irish Arts Review, and the Irish Independent. Reviews of Douthit’s work have been published in the Irish Times, and Sunday Times Culture. Her work is included in both public and private collections.
In 2013 Douthit received the Hennessy Craig Award from the RHA. In 2014 Douthit’s work advanced to Stage II of the John Moores Painting Prize and highlighted through Saatchi Art’s ‘Invest in Art Series’. 2014 Exhibitions include the Continental Shift- Saatchi Gallery, London; If I show you the roses-Rubicon Projects, Dublin. 2015 Exhibitions include a solo exhibition at the RHA Ashford Gallery; Panorama group exhibition- Pallas Projects. Gallery. 2017 exhibitions include the RHA Annual, 440 Gallery group show, Brooklyn, NY, and a solo exhibition at the North Dakota Museum of Art (with catalog). 2018 Exhibitions include 440 Gallery’s Below the Surface, Group show, Brooklyn, NYC; 188th Annual Exhibition, RHA. 2019 forthcoming exhibitions include Prince Street Gallery’s 2019 group exhibition, NY, NY; and a solo show at the Northwest Arts Center, Minot, ND.
Douthit has received grants from the Irish Arts Council and the North Dakota Council of the arts. Douthit has attended funded and partially funded residencies at the Tyrone Guthrie Center, Ballinglen Arts Foundation, and Vermont Studio Center.
Douthit currently resides in North Dakota and is the residential fellow at the University of North Dakota's Institute for Philosophy in Public Life.
