This body of work was created during a two-week residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Annaghmakerrig. I was given a piece of advice from a actor on my first night there (‘To find a form that accommodates the mess’ –Samuel Beckett). Thinking this over, I decided as a response to the recent publication of Emily Dickinson's ‘Envelope Poems’ to create daily diaries of my life there in paint. The form of the painting was small, to accommodate my current lifestyle being nomadic. Many of the paintings reference things that remind me of home, or people of significance.
