How does a work, work? I don’t know and I can’t control that. I try as best I can to listen to all the little pulls of intuition that tell me where I need to be, what colors I should mix, or when I need to turn my attention to the tasks of emails and social media. My daily circumstances provide subjects, and this summer I have had the joy of my niece spending her summer here. ‘Auntie, are you going to paint me?’ is a common question. A three-year-old has her own daily goals, so I go with the flow and wait for a moment of stillness to catch something in paint, often it is when her back is to me, each in our own world, but sharing the same physical space.
